Can you Zelle from MIDFLORIDA Credit Union? ›

Zelle sells itself as a secure money transfer app because it doesn't store your personal information. Your details stay secure with your bank and are never visible to Zelle. However, the downside to instant money transfers is that you may not be able to cancel transactions once they are made.

Why is my Zelle payment taking so long? ›

Funds may be delayed if the recipient isn't enrolled with Zelle®. The recipient can enroll before or after you've sent the funds. After enrollment, it can take up to three business days before funds are deposited.

If your recipient is enrolled with Zelle^®, money is typically available within minutes. However, there are circumstances when the payment may take longer. For example, if your recipient isn't enrolled, they will need to enroll to receive their money.

Zelle doesn't report to the IRS for business or personal use of its platform. Technically, it doesn't count as a third-party payment network, so the usual reporting requirements don't apply to it. In addition, personal transactions on a third-party payment network are never taxable.

According to Chase's website, they typically complete their reviews within one business day. However, in some cases, reviews could last up to three business days. This delay often occurs when additional verification is required before releasing funds.

As with any tech-driven solution, glitches and other technical issues can cause Zelle payments to fail. These issues might include server downtime, Zelle app bugs, or device or internet connection problems.
